(b 1890 – d 1955) and his discovery and purchase
of the original manuscript for James Boswell’s ‘Life
of Samuel Johnson’, and other of Boswell’s papers.
Until Isham ‘found’ them it was thought that they had
been destroyed by Boswell’s family.
